Current Activities
In March of 2005, net2Community, Inc. was started with the mission to foster effective communication using the internet and build community in the real world. A core value of our Company is to create and share resources in support of worthy causes with community, local business and social service organizations.
Bob provides project management and site architecture development for net2Community projects, which include interactive public facing websites as well as private intranet applications. His technical experience includes website development and management applications such as the Drupal content management system and application framework. Bob also provides end user training for net2Community projects as well as other drupal development shops.
Background
Bob began his information systems experience in 1981 with responsibilities of sales, end-user training, and support of personal computers and networks at two computer hardware and software sales businesses and as an independent consultant. This experience provided an extensive background in back office and productivity software in manufacturing, marketing, and professional services corporations and the corporate marketplace. Specialty software experience includes accounting, manufacturing job shop control, construction estimating, project management software, computer aided design, geographic information systems (GIS), data collection software, document management and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Prior to starting net2Community, Bob worked had twelve years experience as a project manager and business developer at RJN Group, an engineering and information technology firm. Bob has also worked professionally for non-profit organizations for five years and has maintained involvement in volunteer activities for Church and community organizations in a variety of roles his entire career.

Experience includes responsibility for business development activities and active project involvement as project manager and consultant, as projects are implemented. This involves consulting with clients to design and customize computerized management systems, project plans, performing technical project evaluations, staff and sub-consultant management, and leading process change management initiatives. Specific project experience includes design oversight for custom applications for work and project management, data migration, system replacements and update, executive reporting tools, and data conversion and management of infrastructure AM/FM/GIS. While at RJN Group, Inc. Bob was also responsible for managing development of CASSview, RJN’s geographic information viewer and was instrumental in design work for the Internet Service Request.
Large Project Experience at RJN
Project: Computerized Infrastructure Management System
Client: Anne Arundel County, Department of Public Works, Maryland
Scope: Systems Consultant for project activities involving development of the original scope of work and active involvement as client liaison and consultant on the project, eventually assuming project management duties. The system had been implemented in one division since 1990. The project involved expansion for the entire department including six bureaus, having over 12 different divisions for the County, replacing 5 other systems. The system includes support for maintenance activities for wastewater collection, water distribution wastewater and water treatment facilities, roadways storm water collection and waste management facilities. Applications support work order processing, infrastructure data management, inspection, geographic analysis, and reporting functions of the department. Project activities also included the development of the Department of Public Works Information Systems Strategic Plan in 2002.
Custom applications included:
- Internet service request which could be tailored for use by each bureau.
- “CountyView” Geographic viewer, developed in MapObjects merging data from the work management system and ArcInfo GIS System. Successful implementation of this system has lead to daily use by over 250 County employees.
- Remote Bulk Pickup Request System for Bureau of Waste Management
Project: Computerized Maintenance Management System
Client: Arlington County, Virginia Water Division
Scope: Systems Consultant. Responsibilities consisted of conducting implementation planning, software modification, and data conversion workshops. Project activities revolved around development of the original project scope and subsequent projects. Provided consultation on process change management for software implementation projects.
Project: Computerized Maintenance Management System
Client: Boston Water and Sewer Commission
Scope: Business Developer and Project Consultant. Responsibilities consisted of implementation planning, development of the project scope of work including software modifications and data conversion. Project activities included project initiation workshops, project consulting as needed, and project scope for subsequent projects.
Project: Computerized Maintenance Management System
Client: City of Tulsa Water Department, Tulsa OK
Scope: Business Developer and Project Consultant. Responsibilities consisted of implementation planning, development of the project scope of work including software modifications and data conversion. Project activities included project initiation workshops and project consulting. This project required additional attention to re-scope and adjust for work sharing with a politically connected outside consultant. Due to their undue influence, the project was put on hold for over a year. RJN is currently working on the project again.

Client: Baltimore County Department of Public Works
Scope: Business Developer and Project Consultant. Responsibilities consisted of implementation planning, development of the project scope of work including software modifications and data conversion. Project activities included project initiation workshops, project consulting as needed, and project scope for subsequent projects.
Project: CASS WORKS Implementation
Client: Allentown Bureau of Public Works, Allentown, Pennsylvania
Scope: CMMS (CASS WORKS) was installed on multiple sites in a NT Server environment. Provided data migration and collection services, workflow, and O&M processes. Project activities involved scope development and assisting in management of the project.
Project: Computerized Maintenance Management System Client: Cobb County Water System, Marietta, Georgia
Scope: Systems Consultant for project consisting of conducting implementation planning and software modification workshops, developing a project design document, and managing the final implementation process including training. This was a problem project requiring me to provide system audit services and project liaison assistance.
Project: Computerized Infrastructure Management System
Client: City of Wyoming, Michigan
Scope: Systems Consultant for project activities that included the development of original project scope and project management. Project consisted of conducting software modification, data translation, and project planning workshops, performing installation of a Novell network, and installation/training of CASS WORKS Sewer, Water, Pavement, and Storm Maintenance Management, and Sewer Physical Inspection Modules.
Project: Computerized Maintenance Management System Installation and GIS Data Conversion
Client: Holland Board of Public Works, City of Holland, Michigan
Scope: Assistant Project Manager responsible for assisting Project Manager with the replacement of existing maintenance management system with a CASS WORKS installation, including data conversion.
Project: Water and Work Order Processing
Client: City of Cincinnati, Ohio
Scope: Systems Consultant responsible for the development of original project scope and management of CASS WORKS implementation in the distribution division. This project included my first custom application design to collect data from field engineer inspections on work projects that included any ground breaking activities. The “underground report” provided a data entry screen for effectively capturing specific conditions related to the failure, cause, and physical characteristics of the work. Other work includes Project management for upgrades to the system in the Windows environment and additional custom reporting capabilities for the Water and Work Order Processing module.
